Did you have a nice weekend? We decided it was time to slow down and engage in some much-needed rest and relaxation, as the changing of seasons always leaves us feeling a bit sluggish! Yes she really did! Queen Cleopatra the last pharaoh of Ancient Egypt is widely remembered as a sharp and powerful ruler.
However, aside from her authority, she is also widely known for her stunning beauty. According to historians, even when she travelled, she would take a few donkeys with her, just in case! We loved it — the smell is BEElicious! So what do you think bees? Is bathing in honey one step too far or are you tempted to give it a try? Close search. Just added to your cart. Go shopping. In the Ancient world, Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt was regarded as a great beauty. For Caesar and Pompey had known her when she was still a girl and inexperienced in affairs, but she was going to visit Antony at the very time when women have the most brilliant beauty.
Preserving that great beauty required great effort, and women from the ancient world utilized cosmetics made entirely from natural, though often rather questionable, ingredients. To preserve the vitality and beauty of her skin, it is said that Cleopatra regularly took baths in donkey milk.
You can also used powdered milk. Flowers are optional but I would totally add them! So much fun and they look sooo pretty! I also added some Eco Bee Farms raw Manuka honey to my bath which made it super luxurious.
How to Make It: — Measure out the milk into a large, wide bowl — Add the Epsom and sea salts along with the baking soda and mix everything together well, making sure to break up any clumps — Add the fragrance or essential oil.
Lavender is a favorite in bath blends, but honey, almond, vanilla, mint, rose and other flowery and fruity fragrances also are delish — Mix everything together well — Scoop the milk mixture into jars or other air-tight containers — For your bath, add a half cup or so to briskly running bath water and enjoy a soothing soak — Feel free to play around with the type of salts and fragrances to make it your own. Love this amazing, gorgeous vintage yellow Tiffany bowl by Elsa Peretti which was given to me as a gift.
I also added something a little extra to my special bath…. The fruits of my labor! Allow minutes to just slip into this amazing bath. The results?
