Are there any series after dragonball gt

There's also no mention of 17's family, who are referenced in Dragon Ball Super. The original Dragon Ball story sees Goku defeat Frieza, and Future Trunks finishes the villain off with a swift swing of his blade. Frieza's henchmen manage to revive him in the Resurrection F arc, but despite attaining a shiny new form, the villain is once again killed by Goku.

After helping Universe 7 to victory in the Tournament of Power, Goku allows Frieza to be revived permanently, and the character is currently still kicking around.

It's possible that Frieza could die again between Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT , but as things stand, the character's status in one sequel is incompatible with the other. At the start of Dragon Ball Super , however, the Pilaf Gang inadvertently turn themselves into children.

With only a few years between the two sequels, Pilaf and his cronies should still be relatively youthful when they wish upon the Black Star Dragon Balls in GT. Instead, Pilaf is visibly wrinkled, and the other two are fully-grown. The only possible explanation is that Pilaf uses the Dragon Balls to wish him and his pals back to their natural ages during the interim between Super and GT.

As the granddaughter of Goku and the daughter of Gohan, Pan is a formidable fighter in Dragon Ball GT , but she never turns Super Saiyan, and her strength still pales in comparison to that of her family members. Although she's merely a baby in Dragon Ball Super , the anime hints that Pan has even more latent potential than Gohan as a child. After being caught up in one of Pilaf's escapades, Pan flies up into space and saves the gang by easily lifting their spaceship. Although this happens in a Dragon Ball Super filler arc, Pan is clearly being built as a more powerful warrior than she eventually becomes in Dragon Ball GT.

Like father, like daughter, perhaps? Dragon Ball GT sees Goku achieve the Super Saiyan 4 transformation by regrowing his tail and staring at the reflected light of Earth to transform into an ape. The first major arc had the team facing the evil Emperor Pilaf, a diminutive would-be conqueror who would essentially be forgotten in the franchise thereafter. The next saga had Master Roshi training Goku and his Shaolin monk rival Krillin for a martial arts tournament, introducing the franchise's signature attack, the Kamehameha Wave.

The majority of the rest of the series had Goku facing the villainous Red Ribbon Army and its various generals, while also introducing Master Roshi's sister, Fortuneteller Baba. The next arc had a new tournament that introduced Tien , a pupil taught by Roshi's nemesis who would later become an ally of Goku's. The final stories in the series featured Piccolo, Jr. King Piccolo was supposedly a powerful demon lord, and at the time, Goku's fiercest opponent yet. Dragon Ball ended with a now-adult Goku facing Piccolo's clone son, as well as marrying his childhood sweetheart, Chi-Chi.

The sequel series, Dragon Ball Z was more popular by leaps and bounds, adapting the latter half of the Dragon Ball manga. It began by introducing new foes in the powerful alien Saiyans and revealed that Goku was actually one of them. Besides Goku's long-haired brother Raditz, the arc also introduced the villainous Nappa and the arrogant Saiyan prince Vegeta , who would begrudgingly join Goku's side later.

It would also introduce the fact that Piccolo was not some sort of demon but was, in fact, an alien from the planet Namek. Goku is killed in the fight with Raditz, and though he's resurrected by the Dragon Balls, the deaths of others, including Piccolo, jumpstarts an adventure off Earth for a new set of Dragon Balls. The next arc had the "Z Fighters" traveling to Namek to use the original Dragon Balls to wish their friends back to life, but standing in their way is the tyrannical Frieza.

This fierce reptilian alien and his family were responsible for the destruction of the Saiyan race, and attempt to similarly subjugate the Namekians. In his long battle against Frieza, Goku achieves the long-forgotten form of a Super Saiyan. It perhaps goes without saying, but Dragon Ball GT was fairly unpopular and remains widely disliked within the fandom, even if its reputation has improved slightly within recent years. With re-edited scenes, a lower episode count, a brand new score by talented plagiarist Kenji Yamamoto, and brand new performances from the cast.

Some of this is really hit or miss depending on the arc, but Kai makes for a much brisker digestion of Dragon Ball Z. With Kenji Yamamoto fired, The Final Chapters also suffers from a painfully generic and annoying score. Honestly, The Final Chapters does not cut enough to justify its existence. The animated Buu arc still feels quite bloated, and the Japanese version features worse performances on a whole. No one could have possibly expected for Dragon Ball Super to suddenly end with the Tournament of Power, yet, here we are.
